As of September, 2007, Take a Minute Daily Devotionals is 20 years old!  It is a fantastic example of how God can take something very small and multiply it into something we could have never imagined 20 years ago.

In September, 1987, the devotionals were not even “devotionals” … they were being written upon request as a daily study guide for the Sunday School teachers in a mid-sized church in southeastern Texas.  A “subscription” request six months later started the growth of the hard copy ministry, and by 1996, over 100 churches and even more individuals were subscribers.  Internet access made it possible to convert to a totally free electronic ministry, which has grown to huge proportions… again, by word of mouth! 

Today, Take a Minute is translated into 17 languages and dialects and redistributed in those countries.  The devotionals are reprinted on numerous web pages, internet sites, church and corporate newsletters, and local newspapers.  And they are broadcast on at least four radio networks outside the U.S., the most recent of which is in Kenya, Africa.  Our best estimate is that the devotionals are being heard or read by over 900,000 people every day!  ALL of the glory for the reach of this ministry goes to God, who not only began the original tiny ministry, but whose hand has done all of the growing to the amazing size that the ministry is today!

Dogwood Lapel Pins and Earrings!

Earlier this year, we began praying about some special way to celebrate this twentieth year in a personal, one-on-one way with our subscribers.  On our own, we were not coming up with anything satisfactory, so God stepped in again… One day, in the mail, we received a letter from a gentleman in Florida whose company had created some items especially for us… They were exactly what we were looking for -- a lapel pin and earrings in the shape of dogwood blossoms!  The quality and workmanship are beautiful!  The cost was also low enough to allow us to make them available for a donation that almost anyone can afford.  Pictures and information on these beautiful jewelry pieces are below.  A portion of the proceeds will go to the ministry to help continue the work and expand the ministry in areas for which funds have not been available previously.  Please prayerfully consider your participation in this 20th Anniversary celebration.  We will continue to offer these meaningful and beautiful jewelry pieces at least through Christmas, and probably beyond!  So keep them in mind for Christmas gifts, too!

Both the lapel pin and earrings are made with the same high quality materials and craftsmanship.  The blossom is gold-plated and detailed with 22K gold.
